Why a size chart can’t answer it
A size chart measures whether a garment will fasten around you. It says nothing about whether the shape survives once you are moving. That second part is construction, and it is where most dresses quietly fail.
An unstructured dress borrows its silhouette from the model — her proportions, the styling, a clip at the back of the shoot. Put it on a different body and the shape is gone, because there was never any structure holding it; the fabric just reports whatever is underneath. A structured piece is the opposite: the silhouette is built into the garment, so it holds across different bodies instead of depending on one.
That is the real answer to “will it look like that on me” — not a number, but whether the shape is in the dress or only in the photo.
The two EASTEAM fit families (read this first)
Almost every fit question is answered by knowing which family a piece belongs to.
- Stretch-and-hug pieces — the Daydream Skirt and most ribbed-knit or spandex skirts and tops. The fabric does the shaping. These run snug.
- Built-in-structure pieces — the Daydream 2.0 dresses and the Isadora Set. Titanium-alloy fishbone boning and sewn-in hip-and-bum padding do the shaping. These fit to fixed measurements.

Family 1 — the Daydream Skirt and stretch pieces
The Daydream Skirt, our best-seller, is a high-stretch ruched mini in a spandex blend with a contrast corset-style waistband. The gathered fabric sculpts and hugs, and the dense ruching adds its own structure.
Fit rule, straight from us: this skirt runs small — if you’re between sizes, size up. It comes in S/M/L; match the hip measurement on the product-page chart. Other ribbed-knit and spandex tops behave the same way: forgiving, body-hugging, snug by design.
Family 2 — Daydream 2.0: built-in structure and shapewear
This is where we engineer the shape into the garment. Every Daydream 2.0 piece shares the same construction signature:
- Titanium-alloy fishbone boning runs throughout the corset structure to cinch the waist and hold an hourglass line.
- Integrated hip-and-bum contouring pads — non-removable, wrapping from the rear around to the hips — add curve. This is built-in shapewear; you don’t need Spanx underneath.
- Fully lined, often with lined shorts sewn under the skirt.
- Hook-and-eye front closure down the corset, usually with a halter tie.
Because the structure is fixed, these pieces don’t stretch to fit you — you fit to them. Use the bust / waist / hip chart on the product page (Daydream 2.0 dresses run XS–XL) and choose the size your measurements land in. If your waist and hips fall in different sizes, size to the larger measurement so the boned corset closes comfortably.

- Bust — around the fullest point, tape level.
- Waist — the narrowest part of your torso, tape snug not tight.
- Hips — the fullest part, feet together.
Compare those to the size chart on the specific product page. For a boned Daydream 2.0 piece the waist number matters most, because the corset sets the fit. For the Daydream Skirt, go by hips — and remember it runs small.

“Will I feel good in it?” — the honest part
For the Daydream 2.0 pieces, “feeling good” is largely engineered in: the boning supports your posture and the contouring pads shape the silhouette, so the dress does some of the work for you.
The trade-off is comfort over a long night. A boned corset is meant to sit firm at the waist, so if you want to eat a full dinner and dance for hours, size to your true waist rather than cinching down. You should feel held, not held hostage.
For the Daydream Skirt and stretch pieces, comfort is easy — just respect the run-small rule so it hugs instead of pinches.

Caring for structured and stretch pieces
Our structured pieces need gentle care to protect the boning and embellishment. Straight from the care labels on the Daydream 2.0 dresses:
- Hand wash cold, maximum 30°C, with a mild detergent.
- Do not wring or twist — reshape and lay flat to dry.
- Do not bleach and do not tumble dry.
- Iron low, maximum 110°C, avoiding mesh panels and any disc or fringe detail.
- Do not dry clean. Store flat to preserve the boning shape.
Stretch pieces like the Daydream Skirt also last longest hand-washed cold and laid flat — heat and tumble-drying are what break down spandex over time.
